Introduction to Mental Health

Mental health means how we think, feel, and act. It is important because it affects every part of our lives. It helps us handle stress, get along with others, and make choices. Just like taking care of our body is important for being healthy, taking care of our mind is important for being happy and living well.

Around the world, mental health problems are a big issue. Many people have these problems, no matter where they live or what they do. In fact, about 1 in 4 people will have a mental health problem at some point in their lives. Things like anxiety and depression can happen to anyone. The COVID-19 pandemic has made these problems even worse, showing us how much people need help and support for their mental health.

Even though mental health problems are common, many people do not get the help they need because of stigma and wrong information. But there is hope. By talking openly about mental health, giving people the right information, and being kind, we can make sure everyone gets the help they need. Each step we take to understand and support mental health brings us closer to a happier and kinder world.
