High-Powered Magnetic Ball Sets Recalled: Shocking Risk for Children

## Beware Parents:** High-powered magnetic ball sets, popular among children, are being recalled due to a serious and potentially life-threatening danger. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued an urgent warning urging consumers to immediately stop using and dispose of these sets.

**The Problem:** The recalled magnetic balls are small, powerful, and can easily be swallowed by children. If swallowed, these magnets can attract each other inside the body, causing serious internal injuries, including:

* **Perforations:** The magnets can pierce through the intestines, leading to infections and internal bleeding.

* **Blockages:** The magnets can become lodged in the digestive system, causing severe pain and requiring surgery to remove.

* **Blood poisoning:** In extreme cases, the injuries caused by the magnets can lead to sepsis and even death.

**Recent Recalls:**

* **XpressGoods:** The CPSC recently recalled XpressGoods' Neodymium Magic Magnetic Balls, sold online from July 2021 to May 2022.

* **Sunny House:** 125-Piece 5mm Mixed Color Magnetic Ball Sets sold exclusively on Temu.com are also under recall.

* **Carrara Magnetic Ball Sets:** These sets, sold on myKmarket.com, have also been recalled due to the same safety concerns.

**Urgent Action Required:**

* **Immediately stop using any high-powered magnetic ball sets.**

* **Keep the sets away from children.**

* **Contact the retailer or manufacturer for instructions on returning the recalled product.**

* **Seek immediate medical attention if you suspect your child has swallowed a magnet.**

**CPSC Estimates:**

* Between 2017 and 2021, approximately 2,400 magnet ingestions were treated in hospital emergency departments.

* The CPSC is aware of seven deaths involving the ingestion of high-powered magnets.

**Alternatives:**

* Consider safer alternatives to high-powered magnetic ball sets, such as magnetic building tiles or other construction toys.

* Choose toys that are age-appropriate and free of small parts that could be swallowed.

**Safety First:**

Protecting children is paramount. Sharing this information with other parents and caregivers can help prevent tragedies. Spread the word and ensure everyone is aware of the dangers associated with high-powered magnetic ball sets.
